Is Your Website Ready for the iPad?
Over 1 million iPads sold in the first 28 days!
Just 28 days after the new iPad was introduced on April 3, Apple has sold over 1 million units. Apple has reported that the iPad is selling at more than twice the rate then the iPhone did when it was first launched. This is great news for Apple but no such great news for a lot of website owners who use Flash on their sites.
If you haven't already heard, Apple has chosen not to include Flash support on the new iPad. This poses an issue for those of you who do use Flash on your site or have a full Flash website. If someone surfing the web with an iPad visits your website they will not be able to view any part of your site that uses Flash. You don't want to miss out on any potential customers or clients who visit your website, so this is not something that you want to ignore.
What Should You Do?
No worries! If your website uses Flash technology, there are ways we can make your site iPad friendly and you can still keep using Flash. We can use special code that detects when someone using an iPad visits your site and automatically replaces the Flash with an alternative that is viewable on the iPad. In most cases this will not require a complete re-design but rather the use of alterative technologies in place of Flash. The best thing to do is have us review your current website for you and recommend what changes should be made in order to assure that your website is iPad friendly!
